Are you ready to step into a mythical world, slip into the hero’s shoes, and fight for other-worldly creatures? The wait is finally coming to an end. Reach, the upcoming “AAA” cinematic VR adventure from nDreams, is set to release on October 16, 2025, for Quest 3, PlayStation VR2, and PC VR.
The game, recently showcased at the Future Games Show, has been generating buzz at various events. Shuhei Yoshida, head of PlayStation Indies, introduced the game during one of its showcases and called it a standout VR experience. The fresh gameplay trailer (below) has sparked excitement as the footage showed how different tools can be used across traversal, combat, and puzzle-solving modes. This versatility and variety have sparked lively discussions within the gaming community.
nDreams has had previous stints in VR with titles like Phantom: Covert Ops and Synapse, but Reach is its most ambitious project to date. The makers claim that this will be a cinematic experience with an action-adventure focus, built around full-body awareness and natural interactions. Players will step into the story of a reluctant hero exploring a hidden underground civilization while facing mythical enemies.
Traversal and combat are the highlights of this VR experience and game design. Players can climb, leap across gaps, swing on ziplines, and use a wide range of gear, seamlessly blending these actions in gameplay. The hero also gains access to vast weaponry, including bows, shields, and grappling tools, with combat offering both melee and ranged encounters. Physics-based interactions are also central, adding weight and realism to every action.
Pre-orders are now live on the PlayStation Store and Meta Horizon Store, with early buyers receiving the Ferran cosmetic set. This includes themed gear such as a bow, shield, gauntlets, and a drone. On Steam, the game can be wishlisted ahead of release.
While the October 16 launch is confirmed, details like pricing, headset-specific features, and post-launch content remain undisclosed. More information is expected as the release draws closer.
