Syberia VR Brings the Classic Adventure to Quest 3 this November

After two successful decades of captivating PC players with its flavor of mystery and storytelling, Syberia is entering the world of virtual reality. Syberia VR launches on November 13, 2025, on the Meta Horizon Store for Quest 3 and 3S. It’s a VR remake of Benoît Sokal’s 2002 classic. It is being developed by Virtuallyz Gaming and Microids Studio Paris and published by Microids. The aim is to bring Kate Walker’s story to VR for new and existing players and is built alongside Syberia Remastered to keep the story aligned.

First released in 2002, Syberia became a cult hit for its atmosphere, clockwork automata, and mystery. The game followed the story of Kate Walker, an American lawyer sent to a village in the French Alps to close the sale of an automaton factory. A simple task soon turned into a journey across Europe, as she searched for inventor Hans Voralberg, a man obsessed with finding the last living mammoths.

Syberia VR reimagines the original game for first-person play and an immersive experience. Puzzles are redesigned for hand-led interactions, and environments are fully 3D. Players can move through locations, examine mechanisms closely, interact with objects, and solve problems with motion controls. The goal in this version is to keep the story intact while giving players a direct connection to each scene and element.

Microids says the VR version was developed in parallel with Syberia Remastered, which releases on November 6 for PC and consoles. Both versions share upgraded models, lighting, and animation. Last week also saw a “Before and After” trailer launch that shows how the new art compares with the 2002 version.

The flatscreen remaster will get a physical edition in select regions, including the UK. The VR release is digital-only for now. Saves, features, and content parity between the two versions are something that has not been disclosed yet.

The release date and mode are final. However, pricing, headset-specific features, comfort options, and how far the puzzles go in VR are some areas where more information is awaited from the studio.
