Batman: Arkham Shadow VR Announced for Meta Quest 3

Camouflaj (Iron Man VR) is releasing an all-exclusive Batman: Arkham Shadow adventure game for the Quest 3 VR headset from Meta. To spice things up, the developer released a cinematic trailer that has gotten people talking and wanting to play the game already. This exclusive title is poised to show and explore the origins of iconic characters from the franchise, such as The Scarecrow and Harley Quinn.

Camouflaj’s Exclusive Batman Title for Meta Quest 3 Shows Alluring Trailer

After it was revealed last month that Camouflaj (Iron Man VR) is releasing an exclusive Batman title for Meta Quest 3, the renowned developer has recently published a trailer that sets the sights on what to expect from the Batman: Arkham game.

The upcoming VR action-adventure game looks to be set between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum – shows Gotham City weighed down by the Rat King and his cult-like followers, abducting Commissioner Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, and also threatening to execute them in a week for “crimes committed against the people of Gotham City.” Now, Batman needs to save the planned “Day of Wrath,” but sadly, it appears things didn’t end well.

To make the trailer more interesting, it showed hints that Batman: Arkham Shadow will explore the origins of iconic characters like The Scarecrow and Harley Quinn, while Batman still wallows “with the contradiction at the core of his identity – the use of force in pursuit of peace.”

Well, the trailer never showed any gameplay footage, yeah, that was reserved for Gamescom 2024, as Meta mentions that the new exclusive game will offer everything the series is known for, but across a full-fledged story-driven plot. So to say, you’d get to tour around Gotham City with Batman’s Grapnel Gun, grab your cape to silently glide behind enemies, and yes, “Detective Vision” returns here.

In combat, you string up enemies and attack using your batarang or escape with smoke bombs. Leaks and peeks from the Arkham Shadow news and rumors so far highlight that the gameplay would feature crime scene examinations, hidden puzzles, and discrete collectibles. The Batman: Arkham Shadow game will arrive on Quest 3 in fall 2024.
