Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR was released by developers Merge Games recently. This launch came after the initial release of the game in February 2024 for PC, along with PlayStation and XBOX. Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR is a spin-off of the original game, specifically made for VR. Fans owning Meta Quest headsets can now enjoy the indie hit with an immersion like never before.
The game, though a spin-off of the original, would offer a “new, unique single-player adventure set within the world of Smalland: Survive the Wilds.” What does that mean? What difference does it make?
Well, the first thing to be noted is the increased level of immersion and participation within the world known to its players. You will play as a tiny townfolk, called “smallfolk,” living in a world dominated and ruled by giant insects and creatures.
Players can no longer co-op with their friends for missions, but they will still be doing all the crafting, building and exploring that they could in the original PC version.
Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR will give you “dozens of hours” of gameplay and exploration, as promised by the makers. Players will get to craft tools and build shelters to survive in a world double their size. You may also get to make the dominating giants your allies while you explore a world full of forgotten relics and artefacts.
Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR is available on the Quest line of series for $30 USD. While the game stays the same with a few differences, it does offer a fresh take on the narrative.
